Liquidity describes how easily an asset trades without moving price. Volume counts how much traded over a period—but reported volume can be inflated or fragmented across venues.

Depth and slippage

Order book depth shows available bids and asks. Large orders in thin books experience slippage, receiving worse average prices than mid-market quotes suggest.

Volume quality

Wash trading and incentive programs can distort rankings. Compare multiple data sources and focus on regulated venues where available.

XRPL context

On- DEX activity appears in explorers separately from centralized exchange tape. Aggregate carefully when estimating "market" liquidity.

Summary

Liquidity affects execution quality more than logos or social buzz.
